ABSTRACT

In India, herbal medicines are an essential component of all officially recognized medical systems, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy, and Naturopathy—all except Allopathy. In order to nourish our hair and keep it from dandruffing, the goal of current study is to create and assess flaxseed hair gel. Omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in flaxseeds, encourage circulation in the scalp, provide hair follicles with vital proteins and minerals, and reduce follicle soreness, which in turn prevents hair loss. Because it includes vitamin E, it enhances hair development and strengthens hair follicles while reducing the impact of free radicals on the scalp. Herbal cosmetics are treatments intended to enhance a person's appearance. Because herbal hair gel is manufactured with natural ingredients and herbal extracts, it helps control hair loss and gets rid of dandruff. The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a herbal hair gel that uses aloe vera and flax seed to combat dandruff and encourage hair growth. Flax seed (Linum usitatissimum) contains vitamin E, which supports healthier hair growth and stronger follicles. Aloe vera and flax seed extracts were made via aqueous extraction. Aloe vera and flax seed extracts were produced and evaluated in five different gel compositions with different concentrations.Five distinct gel compositions with varied concentrations of aloe vera and flax seed extracts were made and assessed. Numerous characteristics, including colour, Odor, gel texture, clarity, pH, viscosity, Spreadability, extrudability, gel strength, homogeneity, stability studies, and in vitro antifungal activity, were assessed for the formulations (F1 through F5). Out of the five formulations, F2 maintained its antifungal effectiveness for an extended amount of time while remaining stable. Overall, the study's findings support the use of herbal hair gel made with flax seed and aloe vera to promote hair growth and lessen dandruff.
